Hi! I’m Stacey Douglas, a Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, Birth Doula and Sleep-Shaping Consultant with over 20 years of experience supporting babies, parents, and caregivers through the most vulnerable seasons of life. Build Bricks grew out of my commitment to helping families feel confident, connected, and supported without feeling overwhelmed as they welcome a new baby.

I believe that when a baby arrives, the whole family is being born. And just like a home, a family needs a strong foundation — built gently, intentionally, and with care. My work is rooted in attachment, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive support, meeting families where they are — whether that means soothing a colicky baby at 3 a.m, helping a parent trust their instincts, or creating rhythms that allow everyone to rest.

What makes Build Bricks different is that I don’t just care for babies, I care for systems:

• The nervous system of a newborn

• The emotional system of a new parent

• The home system that holds them both

Build Bricks is also deeply community-centered. I work with families across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Long Island, Queens, and beyond. Including those navigating postpartum recovery, NICU stays, fertility journeys, and financial or emotional stress.

Alongside my private client work, I volunteer with mothers living in shelters and families facing housing, financial, or systemic barriers to accessing care who would otherwise go without supportive care.

I also proudly serve queer families, non-traditional families, and voluntary single parents by choice. Families are not one-size-fits-all, and neither is the care they deserve. Whether you are parenting solo, co-parenting, or building your family through IVF or surrogacy, or creating a family that doesn’t fit an outdated box, you will be met here with respect, affirmation, and deep understanding.

I believe every family deserves care that is dignified, warm, and rooted in respect. This isn’t about “fixing” babies or having the “perfect” newborn. It’s about building trust, rhythm, and connection — one brick at a time.
